Whimsical Fairy First Birthday
A garden first birthday built at toddler height, with lavender draping knotted into the trees and a ruffled buttercream cake barely bigger than a dinner plate.
- Lavender
- Blush peach
- Sage

These boards are ideas rather than photographs. The images show how a theme could look, not a party we have styled. Our real celebrations live in The Bubbly Files.
The details
How to get the look
- Everything gets built at their height. A low table, floor cushions instead of chairs, cups small enough for two hands. One-year-olds spend the whole party on the floor anyway, so that is where we put the party.
- One gauzy fabric in one color does most of the work here. Knot it along a branch and it catches the light from every angle, then packs down into a tote at the end of the day.
- Keep the florals loose. Lavender, ranunculus, stock and trailing ivy, arranged like someone picked them on the walk over. Anything too tidy makes a garden look like a hotel lobby.
- Two props carry the theme: the little ceramic toadstools and the painted fairy doors. Tuck them low, into moss or the base of a tree, where a toddler will actually find them.
- Blank pennants beat a name banner. They photograph better, and you can hang them again next year when the theme has moved on to dinosaurs.
