Planning a party in Woodland Hills
Celine’s under-the-sea third birthday was in a Woodland Hills backyard. Her mum wanted the children in the pool and something for them to watch. We planned the afternoon around both: a lavender, turquoise and peach look that could get wet, and a mermaid who brought a bubble show nobody would leave.
Plenty of homes here have a pool, and a pool changes the plan before it changes the décor. We place the food, the seating and the play area so nobody carrying a plate has to edge past the water.
Heat shapes a party here too. Pierce College, in Woodland Hills, recorded 121°F in September 2020, the highest temperature ever measured in Los Angeles County. Summer parties need shade or an evening start.

Woodland Hills sits at the southwest edge of the Valley. Tarzana is to the east, West Hills, Canoga Park and Winnetka to the north, Calabasas and Hidden Hills to the west, and the Santa Monica Mountains rise to the south.
Most parties here are at home. For a bigger group, Warner Center Park has picnic space, and a gathering there needs a permit from Los Angeles Recreation and Parks. There is no travel charge anywhere in Woodland Hills.

Décor, rentals, florals, balloons, catering, entertainment, printing and other vendor services are purchased separately. Final pricing is based on guest count, location, event complexity and coverage required. Travel is included for celebrations within Los Angeles County. Frequently asked questions
Do you charge travel to Woodland Hills?
No. Woodland Hills is part of the City of Los Angeles and inside Los Angeles County, where travel is always included.
We have a pool. Does that change the plan?
It changes the layout more than the design. We keep the food and the play area on the same side of the water, and if the children will be swimming, the timeline is built around it.
How do you handle the summer heat?
Shade first. We plan cover over the seating and the cake and suggest an evening start where the occasion allows. On The Bubbly Experience we source and book the shade for you.
