The look of it

Event design and styling in Los Angeles

Event design is the part of a party your guests see and photograph: the colours, the table, the backdrop, the flowers and the signs. We design that look for celebrations across Los Angeles, then either hand you the plan or come and style it ourselves.

Overview

One idea, carried all the way through

A party looks designed when its details agree with each other. The napkins pick up the balloons, the cake repeats the flowers, and the welcome sign is lettered like the menu. None of that is expensive on its own. It takes a plan made before anyone goes shopping.

That plan is what we make. It starts as a mood board and a colour palette and ends as a design guide detailed enough to build from: what goes on the table, what stands behind it, where the flowers sit and what each sign says.

You can take the guide and bring it to life yourself. Or you can hand us the whole thing, and we source the rentals and florals and style it on the day.

The process

Designing an event with us

  1. The consultation

We start with the occasion, the space and the feeling you want the room to have. Photos you have saved help, and so does a list of anything you already own and want to use.

  2. Mood board and palette

We pull the idea into one board and a small palette, then test it against your space and the time of day. Colours that look lovely at noon can go flat under evening light.

  3. The details

Then the specifics: the tablescape, the backdrop and balloon concept, the dessert table, the florals, and direction for every sign and printed piece. One revision is included.

  4. The guide, or the day

You finish with a guide you can shop and build from. If you choose The Bubbly Experience, we source the rentals and florals, coordinate the vendors and style it all before guests arrive.

Occasions

Events we design

Dinner parties

Twelve to twenty people and one table. With no crowd to carry the room, the linen, the glassware and the light do all of the work.

Engagement parties and milestones

Small celebrations for the people closest to you, such as an engagement dinner or a fortieth. We design them around one table and one idea.

The Bubbly Files

Design details from The Bubbly Files

Real celebrations we designed and styled. The board at the end is one of our Monday Moodboards, which are concept boards rather than photographs of a party.

These boards are ideas rather than photographs. The images show how a theme could look, not a party we have styled.

“I cannot recommend this team highly enough. From our very first conversation, their communication was great and they made sure every detail was accounted for. They brought our vision to life perfectly.”

Working with us

The design and the day, from the same two people

We design with the setup in mind, because on The Bubbly Experience we are the ones building it. A backdrop that looks right on a mood board also has to fit through your side gate.

We design around what you already own. Bring the vintage cake stand or the family tablecloth, and we will build the palette to suit it.

Good questions

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between event design and event planning?

Design is how the celebration looks: the palette, the table, the backdrop and the details. Planning is how it happens: the budget, the vendors, the timeline and the day itself. The Pop Blueprint is design on its own. The Spark Partnership adds planning, and The Bubbly Experience adds us on the day.

Do you supply the décor and rentals?

We recommend them and, on The Bubbly Experience, source and coordinate them. Rentals, florals, balloons and printing are billed to you directly by the suppliers, with no markup from us.

What does a mood board look like?

Our Monday Moodboards give you the idea: a palette, a set of images and notes on how to get the look. They are concept boards. The one we make for you is built around your date, your space and your guest of honour.

How many revisions are included?

One design revision at every tier.
